PASTOR TELLS FOLLOWERS TO ‘PRAY FOR ME’ FROM HIS HOSPITAL BED AFTER FALLING OVER WHEN THIEVES STOLE HIS iPHONE AS HE DELIVERED SERMON ON FACEBOOK LIVE

A Christian pastor who had his iPhone snatched by a London e-bike gang during a live sermon is in hospital and has begged supporters to pray for his recovery, the Daily Mail can reveal today.Isaac Anderson fell badly while giving chase and has declared that 'thieves, burglars and robbers are everywhere' in Sadiq Khan's capital.
'This is London... you don't know the people that are around you that will come and hurt you', he said.
Footage of the Ghanaian-born pastor having his iPhone 16 pro max snatched from his hand just as he urged people to pray to God has gone viral on social media.
The case has led to one US commentator to declare that Donald Trump is being proved right with his persistent criticism about lawlessness in London under its current Labour mayor.
Speaking from his hospital bed yesterday, pastor Anderson, who appeared slightly breathless and in pain, asked people to 'pray for a speedy recovery'.
He said: 'I was admitted to hospital. I fell down heavily and it affected my belly.
'I was doing a live programme as I was walking, in prayer, and someone came from behind and snatched my phone. So I decided to follow and I immediately took a step and I fell down.
'I couldn't do anything. So I had to call an ambulance and they took me to A&E and now I have been admitted. So pray for a speedy recovery. God bless you'.
Greg Swenson, the American chairman of Republicans Overseas UK, told the Daily Mail that the incident was shocking and criticised Sadiq Khan's 'woke policies'.
He said: 'London is suffering from the same woke policies that plague American big cities, treating criminals as victims and prosecuting crime as racist'.
Mr Swenson himself almost had his phone snatched in Belgravia last week - but he fought off the thief.
'It's not isolated to certain neighbourhoods in London', he said.
Mr Swenson went on: 'The crime surge in US cities is due to failed Democrat leadership and George Soros backed prosecutors, and the President is doing what he can to address those issues'.
He added: 'Does London want to replicate failed US urban policies?'.
Shadow home secretary Chris Philp told the Daily Mail: 'This is the reality of lawless London under Sadiq Khan. 80,000 phones were stolen in London last year, yet the Mayor refuses to act.
'Khan seems more interested in insulting foreign leaders and siding with Andy Burnham in the Labour Civil War than actually doing what's best for Londoners.
'It's time for the Labour Mayor to fix the problems he presides over.'
Isaac Anderson was recording a religious broadcast for his followers early yesterday morning in east London when he was targeted.
He was about 17 minutes into his live sermon when two balaclava-clad cyclists spotted him in Hoe Street, Walthamstow, at 6.30am.
Apostle Mr Anderson, oblivious to the duo, continued preaching to his followers as the pair rode past, before turning their bikes around and sneaking towards him.
A passing bus driver seemingly attempted to warn the pastor by repeatedly beeping before one of the alleged thieves
But as the bungling crook made his escape, he failed to notice Mr Anderson's phone was still broadcasting online.
'Hey JP, he's on Tiktok. He's on TikTok live bro... No fam. How do I end it? It's on Facebook,' says the thief, who was wearing a black jumper, beanie and balaclava.
'Oh s***,' his accomplice is heard saying as he later tries to cover his face before the video cuts out.
The pastor has since spoken out and warned people to 'be careful' while in London as there are 'thieves, burglars and robbers everywhere'.
Speaking of the incident, he said: 'All of the sudden, someone from behind on a bike just came and snatched my phone from my hands [an] iPhone 16 pro max. It's not easy. All my information was on it.'
He added: 'You have to be very careful when you're going through your daily activities. Be careful about your phones and your important stuff - be careful, be careful, be careful.
Mr Anderson received an outpouring of support on social media after the theft, with one person writing on Facebook: 'Sorry Apostle may God give you more strength and protect you.'
The incident comes as London continues to battle with record-breaking number of mobile phone thefts.
Mobile phone snatchings have tripled in the capital in the space of four years, recent data has shown.
Gangs of criminals now roam the city's streets riding high-powered e-bikes to swipe phones out of the hands of unsuspecting victims.
More than 70,000 phones were stolen in the streets of London alone in 2024, out of an estimated 100,000 thefts across the UK.
Some 70,137 devices were stolen amid a scourge of criminal gangs using e-bikes and scooters to tot up high numbers of phones to sell abroad for parts.
It is thought phone snatching could cost consumers up to £70million each year.
Many of the devices are later sold overseas on the black market, with some mobiles appearing in countries like China and Nigeria.
The Metropolitan Police has launched a recent crackdown of the 'industrial-scale' crime wave, targeting organised groups terrorising the capital's tourism meccas.
The Met has deployed plain-clothed officers to 'hotspot' areas, including the West End and Westminster.
Meanwhile, other officers have been deployed on high-powered e-bike to chase thieves down.
The force has even gone so far as using police helicopters to track criminals from the skies before officers on the ground detain the suspects.
