The odds on Manuel
Pellegrini leaving Manchester City by the start of next season have been cut
according to bookmakers William Hill.
Offered at 4/7 after City were knocked out of the
Champions League by Barcelona, customers have only been interested in backing
Pellegrini's sacking and it is now 1/2 that he will have left the Etihad by the
opening day of next season.
Carlo Ancelotti, potentially out of Real
Madrid in the summer, is the 6/4 favourite to take over from Pellegrini
with Atletico boss, Diego Simeone the 4/1 second favourite. Ex Barca manager Pep
Guardiola is 7/1.
"Pellegrini was brought into Manchester City to build on Mancini’s success and push on
in Europe, however, that has not happened and it now looks as though the
Chilean will be off in the summer with another big name in to replace
him," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
Next permanent Manchester City manager: 6/4 Carlo Ancelotti;
4/1 Diego Simeone; 7/1 Pep Guardiola; 8/1 Jurgen Klopp; 9/1 Patrick Vieira; 10/1 Rafa Benitez; 11/1 Ronald Koeman; 16/1 Antonio Conte; 25/1 Brendan Rodgers;
25/1 Joachim Loew; 33/1 Andre Villas-Boas; 40/1 Fabio Capello
Manuel Pellegrini to be in charge of Manchester City on the
first day of next season: 6/4 yes; 1/2 no.
